Seiu Central Collective Agreement

The traditional core of 1199 is based in the hospital industry of New York and Long Island, where dozens of institutions form the League of Voluntary Hospitals and Homes for Collective Bargaining with our union. Contract 1199SEIU/League is a framework agreement that covers tens of thousands of hospital employees. This is the `standard contract` whose conditions we are trying to fulfil – wages, social benefits and protection of workers – throughout our Union. Many hospitals and medical centers outside the league have « me-too » contracts modeled on those in the league. Please note that this table reflects only the main points of the proposals. Not all aspects of each proposal are reproduced below. For more details, please contact your coalition`s central negotiator. Last updated 19.07.21. In 2021, state employees negotiated a new contract that covers salaries, benefits, and working conditions such as security, telecommuting, etc.

On July 16, the state reached a tentative agreement with great victories for state employees. This treaty was then ratified by the members with the right to vote. What is included here is the framework agreement for housekeepers, which covers about 40,000 workers in New York. Almost all home attendant contracts are identical, but members should consult their own ABCs. **This difference does not apply to employees whose primary responsibilities are to respond to weather or hazardous conditions, or who live in their workplace. There are separate contracts with each licensed agency for home health care workers. The Central Table negotiates with the DAS on important national issues such as salaries, benefits and policies that affect all organizations. Home care workers fall into two categories: domestic workers and home health care workers. Home care assistant contracts are negotiated with licensed home care agencies, which in turn are outsourced by certified home health agencies. This is the framework agreement for tens of thousands of nursing home workers on Long Island, New York and its northern suburbs.

As with the league contract for hospital employees, the contract in the New York metropolitan area is the model of salaries and benefits that we have obtained in the nursing home industry. * Employees who are « top out » do not receive any steps; Employees who are « full » in the first year of the contract do not receive a step in the second year of the contract. We negotiate our contract in two stages. The first are « coalition tables » – groups of organizations where we negotiate your organization`s own working conditions and policies. With 275,000 members in a thousand institutions in three states and the District of Columbia, 1199SEIU has hundreds of contracts with employers in all areas of the healthcare industry, from hospitals to clinics, from pharmacies to home care agencies and nursing homes, as well as several staffing agencies. The home attendant contract is not a contract for home health care workers. If the quarterly registration is missed, the employee can request a registration, which is scheduled within 30 days. Here are summaries of some of our biggest contracts. These are only summaries, not the contracts themselves.1199SEIU members, please note: There are many differences, even small ones, between collective agreements. Please consult your CBA or delegate for the exact language. SEIU 503 is a member-led union.

Members elect a bargaining team from among their colleagues every two years. With the legal, bargaining and logistical support of unionized workers, your bargaining team will struggle to ensure that their priorities are reflected in the final contract. This year, the state bargaining team set out to renegotiate the state workers` contract. Throughout the process, members provided feedback through bargaining surveys, took action through petitions, participated in unit breakdowns and rallies, and connected via social media to get results on the issues that mattered most to them. We are pleased to announce that the contract was signed on September 16. The month of July ended with great victories for state employees! Since more than a dozen former SEIU Healthcare locals have joined forces with 1199 since 1998, they have brought their own history, terms and contracts with them. The strategic objective of 1199SEIU is to achieve a high standard for all health workers. .
